Programme

It looked for a long time that the game would be a convincing away win, as Leeds took an early lead when Jacob Burns met a cross from Craig Farrell to score with a fine volley after fifteen minutes. Five minutes later Michael Bridges was put through by Jamie McMaster and he finished the move with style and skill reminiscent of his former glories to give Leeds a two goal advantage. Jamie McMaster made it 3-0, after forty minutes, from a Stephen McPhail cross and the score was a fair reflection on the difference between the two sides. However, Halifax pulled a goal back in first half injury time through Midgley. In the sixty-seventh minute Fitzgerald brought the margin back to a single goal and from then on the outcome was in doubt right up to the final whistle. The Leeds substitutes were: Shaun Allaway, Harpal Singh, Paul Keegan, Caleb Folan, Henry McStay, Craig Stiens and Pandong.
